Much has happened since we last checked in with our adventurers.


The wing they last inhabited was controlled by a powerful necromancer, Azaven, who gave the party a bit of trouble when he retreated with one of Nevik’s wakizashi’s still skewered into him after Nevik threw them at the flying wizard. After they could not find a trace of Azaven, they decided to move onto the next wing, as Nevik was not completely out of commission without his second wakizashi, and they could simply return here.

The moved their attention to the Halls of Wrath, where a whole slew of evocation spells were flung at our heroes. Warriors of Wrath harnessed the power into their blades, and came in large numbers. Only proving to be of nuisance to the heroes, they encountered the ruler of the dungeon in the grand hall. Highlady Athroxis, accompanied by many of her most trusted associates, gave quite the fight for our Heroes, but eventually fell. When Athroxis died by Reiner’s hand, a magical glyph was transferred from the forehead of Athroxis to Reiner’s. He felt stronger, and this was likely the mark to show who ruled these halls. It is in the shaped of the rune of Wrath. They also discovered the ashes of vengeance needed for Philip’s ritual for the Super Soft, as well as the legendary sword hinted by the book Reiner read.

Afterwards, they visited the final wing of the Runeforge, The Shimmering Veils, which belonged to the sin of Pride, and the magic school of illusion. As they entered a grandiose image of a peacock inhabited a large, mirrored room. Reiner, unsure of the image, swung his new sword at the image. He discovered this was an illusion, and thus his blade simply passed right through. However, during this, their reflections in the mirror seemed to spring to life, and our heroes had to battle exact replicas of each other. While Shalelu did fall during this, she was quickly brought back to life using the last resurrection scroll provided by the Black Monk. After the fight, they discovered a secret room, where the body of the ruler of the wing lie dead, perfectly preserved. They looted a few things, and gained valuable information from his journal entries, including how to exit the Runeforge.

They couldn’t leave without doing two things first, though. First, they needed to recover Nevik’s wakizashi. Second, they had gathered ingredients vital for enchanting a weapon with the power to greatly aid their fight against Karzoug. They turned their attention to recovering the wakizashi, and returned to the Ravenous Crypts to hunt down Azaven. He put up a tough fight once they found him, but he eventually fell.

They turned to do their final task in the Runeforge: enchant a weapon with the power to greatly aid in their fight against Karzoug. The party collaborated, and agreed that Reiner’s new greatsword was the best candidate for the powerful enchantment. He entered the shards of the mirrors from the Shimmering Veil, along with the ‘toy’ gifted to them by Delvahine, with his sword into the pool in the center of the Runeforge. It glowed a bright blue, and began to swirl. That swirling continued as the bright blue enchantment surrounded the blade. He lifted the weapon out of the water once the glow surrounded the blade completely, and raised it high as the glow faded.

Suddenly, an explosion of water burst out from the pool and a bright yellow light shot out straight past Reiner and hit the Karzoug statue that was directly behind the party. The statue animated and enlarged, as the party was now suddenly face to face with a gigantic stone golem of Karzoug. It’s voice boomed through the room: “You. Again. Your optimism is inspiring, but this is where you will fall. Your weapons cannot save you, the Runeforge will be your grave.”

The party fought valiantly, with the casters retreating to safety immediately, replaced by Reiner, Nevik, and Valtyra, who all rushed in to confront the construct. The status focused all of its attention on Reiner, likely due to him having the new weapon with the enchantment. The new found power came in handy, despite this statue hitting them incredibly hard and accurately. They quickly dispatched the statue, and as it crumbled, the voice returned “Come then! If you wish your death to be the first before the kingdom of Shalast, then come find me atop Mhar Massif. I will deal with you personally.” Relieved that the dangers of the Runeforge are all but gone now, they gathered their loot left behind, and used the exit portal in the Halls of Wrath, after discovering its existence through the journal notes from Vraxeris, the previous ruler of the Shimmering Veils.

The heroes returned to Sandpoint, and immediately handled the selling of all of the various loot. If they couldn’t find a buyer within town, they traveled to Magnimar to find someone to purchase the numerous items off of their hands. They profited greatly, as adventurers normally do. They now needed to prepare themselves for a powerful fight, but first needed to find out how to get there

They opened the double doors to a shadowy sight: two portals connected by a body of energy similar to a curtain. Connected to it, dark energy cracking with slow-motion lightning moved into further hallways. This was a very small room, so the heroes lined the wall to get a closer look at it all safely. They quickly deduced this was a portal to the Negative Energy plane, and that they could destroy it by destroying one of the crystal pillars holding the portal together. Reiner, eager to do so, took swings at the pillar with his sword. With two fell swings, he smashed the pillar to bits. It shattered and exploded, unfortunately causing shards to hit everyone.

Of worse note, however, it also summoned a creature before the portal completely shut. It forced a large batlike creature, a nightwing, into a room too small for it to move in. Luckily, Reiner and Nevik were close enough to set up very quickly, making quick work of what could have been a very lethal threat to the party. They moved out of this room, and noticed that the air seemed less stale and hindering. Closing the portal must have done something to hinder an aura in this area.

They moved forward in the remaining direction to find a room splattered in blood and corpses. The bodies had their organs removed carefully, Philip catching on that this was the work of an expert necromancer. Reiner, not having any of that, quickly piled the bodies into the center of the room and lit them on fire with Calabolg. Aside from the smell, Reiner had no reservations about hindering any potential further happenings from those bodies.

Nevik scouted ahead to find an empty labratory with various bodies on examination tables. Vincent struggling to keep his lunch down, the group moved into this room before discovering two more directions to take. Nevik scouted the north door, spotting an odd creature standing at a table in the room ahead. Luckily for Nevik, it did not hear him at all, so he was able to report back to the party to tell them the news of the creature. They readied themselves for a fight. Reiner borrowed Philip’s ring of invisibility and proceeded into the room with nevik to get the spook on the creature.

The creature was eating a liver torn from the body on the table before it, and did not detect Reiner or Nevik before they got the jump on him. The ghoul like creature screamed, summoning skeletons from the bookcases that lined this room. Despite the major threat this creature had to the party, it stood no chance against Reiner and Nevik, as they tore through him quickly before it could do any damage. They cleaned up the skeletons with little issue, despites some of the skeletons actually exploding in fiery vengeance upon destruction.

The party turned their attention to the other door now, not sure what they should expect. Anything could be beyond that door, and whatever it is, it was likely not friendly.

Proceeding into the crypts, the first room they encountered was a large circular room with twelve statues lining the walls, aside from another set of doors. The heroes perceptive eyes caught on easily that the statues were the cover for a hidden door. Reiner and Valytra moved to open one of them to find a sarcophagus disturbed. It was lucky that the one they opened was empty, however, as the other eleven doors sprung open, followed by a loud groan from 6 mummies who showed to be behind these doors. Valyra and Reiner dealt with the ones showing near them, while the other casters hung back and dealt with the others. They noticed that the mummies seemed to target no-one but Naolexa, as they quickly surrounded her, putting her in a very tight spot. Reiner, thinking quickly, tapped into his suli ancestral powers to teleport across the room to slash at these three foes, clearing the way for Naolexa to retreat away from the mummies. Philip unfortuantely took a hit, and managed to contract the disease from them. After all of the mummies were dealt with, they turned to deal with the disease on Philip.

Afterwards, they moved on to find themselves at a four way intersection. The walls lined with impressive murals to what seemed to be four families, each representing something under the rune of gluttony. They moved to the right, managing to find a long hall with a armored clay golem at the end of it. They dealt with this threat before it could even touch them, then inspected the room. They found numerous bottles of wine in the room, which matched the description of the component needed for a gluttony ritual. The sarcophagi in this room were all empty, bodies were not found either. This rang a strange note to the party, but the pressed on to the next room across the way…

Reiner kicked in the doors, and found himself in an unexpected room. It was indeed a throne room, but it was filled with vats; 1 large and 4 smaller ones. All of these filled with gross looking liquids. Before them, a grossly obese man sit in a chair, well apparent of their entrance. He seemed ready for anything, but was taken off guard with Reiner wanted to talk instead of fight. He decided to hear them out.

Reiner stated they knew they were outpowered here, and wanted to know if they could work out a deal. Luckily for them, Jordimandus, the ruler of this wing, was simply too exhausted to actually fight them, so he was open to the idea of talking. The heroes explained their quest to find a weapon to fight Karzoug, and Jordimandus had the perfect answer; the list of components needed to attune a weapon to battle greed. He provided them his list of components needed, and explained the process. He also offered them further power if the heroes agreed to deal with the other wings, as he explained to them their potential threats to the Material Plane.

Greed was an obvious choice. Taking out his subordinates would only help them with their endeavours to take out Karzoug.

Wrath was the next potential threat, as Greed and Wrath warred to the point of the world’s destruction many years ago. With taking out the ruler of the wrath wing, they hampered that threat for years, potentially completely.

Gluttony was controlled by Azaven, a powerful necromancer. The threat he posed is as they dealt with greed and wrath, powerfully necromancers would follow in suit to simply raise those armies again in undead. The world was already battling an undead war currently, so this would hamper that front and aid with that war front.

Pride served only the purpose as the other component needed to complete the ritual to attune their weapon. He was unsure of it’s current status, as he had not heard from that wing in years.

The heroes agreed to deal with these, but was curious why Jordimandus was not seen as a threat to them. He explained that they already hampered years of progress of army raising, so he had a lot of ground to recover anyway. This agreement would also be a mutual agreement to mercy between the two groups. Jordimandus also sweetened the deal by offering a book to the party. This manual would bolster the reader’s strength; permanently. Reiner was eager to read through this, but that would be saved for another day.

They traveled into the Vault of Greed next, where they were greeted by a giant golden door. Wary of this place, they inspected the area for traps, and good that they did. The door was a trap that would splatter those who attempted to touch it against the opposite wall. They found the real door to the side of it after disarming the trap, and moved on. They decided to let Nevik scout ahead, who found himself face to face with a blueish mist that filled the hallway. Knowing this was the mist detailed in the book they found, he put up as much defenses as he could, and walked through it.

He was unaffected completely.

Relieved by this discovery, he moved forward through the mist to scout to the other side, and found a water fountain where a handful of water sprites played in the water. He drank an invisibility potion and approached the group of sprites. He took them off guard at first when he decided to speak while still cloaked, as they instantly put up their guard. He talked them down, and got information out of them about why they are here and what hazards might be around here. The sprites explained that this was their fountain, and no-one would take it away from them. They also talked of a mithral mage who pestered them, and scared them away often.

Nevik was pleased with this information, and asked them to get to safety. They retreated back through the blowhole of the statue in the fountain, as Nevik turned back to assist his allies through the mist. They debated about how to go about it , but managed to simply blow it away and run through it before it came back up again.

They scouted ahead, finding a new room with a giant golem in it. This was likely the golems read about in the book, which stated the golems powered the mist found at the entrance. They decided to sneak up on this golem as best as they could, and take him out as fast as possible. They quickly rushed it, and did manage to kill it quickly. They, however, heard heavy footsteps coming down both directions out of this room. They had to steel themselves for a fight.

They entered into a dark hallway, with no portal behind them. The only way being forward, they approached a large circular room, with a fountain in the center and surrounded by statues. Each one depicting a different person. With 7 different ways they could go, they decided to start to their right and move around the circle one by one.

After a long hallway, they entered the Iron Cages of Lust, a large square room with a handful of cages in it, all but one empty or with a dead human in it. In the center of the room; a large pavilion of sorts, using what seemed to be silk as drapery. The group spotted in one cage a human still living, yet clinging onto life barely. Flying above them, however, alu-demons flew around, heckling the party. The group split into two, ignoring the hecklers for the time being. As a group of them approached the cage however, then went into a rage and began attacking. Yama and Reiner found their own trouble, as Reiner chased after Yama to attempt to protect him. Those two few confronted by two fire giants, telling them to leave or die. Of course, Yama liked the challenge, and immediately went into a frenzy. Reiner sighed, and picked up his sword to challenge the giants as well.

Meanwhile, they group had to divert the attention of the alu-demons, but noticed they were quickly getting overwhelmed by approaching fire giants from across the room. Naolexa managed to peak the interest of one of the succubus, and managed to force a parley when she mentioned they were here to learn how to take out Karzoug. The alu-demon immediately called off her allies, and led the group to her leader, Delvahine. This powerful succubus was eager to hear of the heroes plan to deal with Karzoug, and was willing to help...at a price.

In exchange for the component needed to perform the ritual needed to bolster a weapon to fight Karzoug with, Delvahine requested that the bard accompany her to her quarters for some person time. Vincent was eager to appease. Caught up in the opportunity, Vincent quickly remembered that succubus drain their victim’s souls via kiss, and he was already caught up in the ruse with little way out. Knowing things weren’t looking the greatest, he decided that if this is how he was going to leave this world, he might as well go out with a bang. After Vincent working his “magic”, he managed to please Delvahine in a way that the succubus hadn’t been in years. Pleased with his, Delvahine decided to show mercy and accept that as sufficient payment.

She returned to the party with the component; a jeweled dildo. This item, gross as it may have been, was the component enchanted with the power of lust. She handed it to them and told the heroes they will learn more later. Turning to Vincent, she decided to also reward him with a powerful sword she had claimed from a victim many many years ago. She didn’t use it, and it was in the hands of a bard previously. Vincent accepted the sword eagerly. It was a good day for Vincent.

She told the heroes to leave this wing, and to not return. She showed mercy this time, but may not on the next intrusion. They swiftly left the wing to move to the next wing; the Abjurant Halls of Envy.

Our Heroes decided to make a quick stop at Sandpoint before returning to Jorgenfist. While the rest of the group had some magical items made, Reiner took Malia aside to explain to her why he wished for her to stay here in Sandpoint. Malia fought it at first, but did see the merit in Reiner's words about staying safe, and protecting the one town that meant the most to the group. He entrusted her with the safety of the town, and left her with Algren at the group's manor. After the group rested, they teleported back to Jorgenfist.

The stone doors still showed to be closed, but paranoia got the best of the group, as they spent magic spells to prepare themselves for battle. After they prepared, they worked together to pull open the doors to find a long, empty hallway that lead downward. They jogged at a nice pace down the hallway in hopes to find the library, and maybe even Mokmurian.

As the hallway continued, more stonework began to show in this area. Dov immediately recognized it as Thasillionan stonework, similar to what he saw in Thistletop. When the group reached an intersection, he began to notice that the walls had no angles to them; corners of the wall, and the connections from wall to ceiling and wall to floor were rounded out. This differed from Thistletop, and was very strange to see.

After deciding to go to the right, the party discovered a dark room that only one side of the room was lit on. When Nevik poked his head in to see what might be around the corner, he instantly shrank in size. Worse, the room seem to stretch and not keep exact dimensions, which nauseated Nevik. While vomiting and dealing with that, it was clear to the rest of the group that something in this room wasn't right.

Once Nevik got his bearings back, he stepped fully into the room to scope out the room. When he did, two boulders launched at him, narrowly missing him on both sides. These boulders were now roughly the same size as him in his reduced form. Naolexa cast dancing lights and ordered them to float down out and down the room, which illuminated the two giants in the room.

These giants, however, looked very different. Their muscles bulged, skin incredibly tight around them. They also had strange scars on their skin, which showed to be in the shape of runes seen before with the sihedron. Nevik and Yama jumping into action, they quickly took care of these foes while the rest of the party either dealt with the reduced size or the nauseating effect in the room. Aferwards, Nevik was able to identify the magical trap in the room and disable it, which allowed for the rest of the party to pass through unharmed. The group continued through doors to the south.

Yama kicked the doors in and rushed ahead of the group, eager to see what was in store for them. The next room encountered showed to have a white smoke flow out of a cauldron in the near-center of the room. The smoke filled most of the room, however seemed different from your normal mist spells.

Next to the cauldron was a stone golem, who stood motionless despite the heroes in the hallway in plain view. Yama attempted to get the sneak on her, but was unsuccessful in doing so. Reiner went in, stepping into the smoke. The smoke reared up and harmed him badly, temporarily blinding him and making him sick to his stomach again. The stone giant got some clean blows into Reiner before he was able to get away. Nevik attempting to jump over all of the mist and land on the golem, but sadly over shot the jump and landed on the other side of the golem. He, however, was unaffected by the mist. Yama rushed in as well, unaffected by the smoke, after attempting to throw daggers at the golem. Naolexa tried to freeze it, however the magic was ineffective.

A powerful stone golem is hampering our heroes, as they try to deal with it's immunity to magic and reinforced stone that can resist hits. How will our heroes fair?

After looting the ogres and getting past the wall, the group had two tunnels to choose from; the mist filled one, or another tunnel that lead to a darker area. Reiner decided to lead the group through the mist-filled tunnel. About halfway through it, however, Vincent remembered a spell, and dispelled the mist, revealing the next intersection. To the left, the other entrance to the room where our Heroes fought the Lamia. To the right, the start of a hallway with furs lining the sides.

Vincent immediately was wary of the furs, and suggested that they be burned. After the party decided it would be a waste of resources, the started down the hall. After reaching a point, a ranseur burst through the walls, attacking Reiner. As the fur fell, Reiner caught a quick glimpse of a troll behind the wall, using a small slot in the wall to attack through. He warned the rest of the group, but it was too late for Malia and Valtyra, as they also received unexpected blows through the furs.

They had to act fast, and the only way to get through the mess was to get past the wall of furs and around the corner. Reiner, Malia, Valtyra, and Nevik all progressed as quickly as possible through the area. Vincent, Naolexa, Shalelu, and Philip all used Dimension Door to teleport through the hall and to a safe section. Philip quickly used his staff to move the stone wall to close off the tunnel that one of them was in. Nevik worked his way quickly to the other tunnel to deal with the threat there. After making quick work of him, Nevik discovered a treasure chest, which he gathered up and showed the party.

However, Philip had his gaze set on a statue that was on the wall of a three-eyed jackal. As he stared, he saw it twist and contort to look at him directly. It shouted "FOOLS!" While only Philip saw the statue moved, everyone heard the noise.

Vincent thought quickly, knowing that red dragons were powerful foes, and struck a deal with the dragons. The dragons fight with the party, and in return, the dragons were promised the killing blow against what they assumed were the cause of the enchantment. The dragons agreed, and the blood bath ensued.

The two lamias were certainly powerful foes, battling fiercely with the dragons and the party. However, suspiciously, a third lamia showed up with two unexpected foes at her side; Tsuto and Nualia. Vincent immediately saw this as an illusion, despite not knowing these two. Vincent was told the stories of how Reiner killed Tsuto and ripped out his heart, there was no way he could honestly be standing here now.

Reiner and Malia entered the room a little behind the group, as they ensured that the Sandpoint Villagers were taken care of. Reiner got into the fray and made quick work of one of the lamias. This angered the dragons, as the humans were not true to their word. Instantly, one of the dragons attacked both Malia and Reiner. While this was largely unsuccessful, Reiner readied himself to take on the dragons with full force. The other party members shouted at the dragons and at Reiner, stating that they had a common enemy, and now was not the time to battle that out. Reiner scoffed, and agreed, turning his attention back to the lamias.

While I agree there are more important foes to face at the moment, we should work together if you want to make it out of here alive.


Despite the good intentions behind the statement, the dragons snorted a bit of flame out of his nose, and tripped Reiner as he tried to approach the Lamias. As the 2nd Lamia fell unconscious, the dragon was able to snap it's neck, getting the kill. The dragon who tripped Reiner roared:

With that, they retreated from the room, leaving the Heroes with a lamia, Tsuto, and Nualia. Philip sealed off the exit for the enemy with a wall of ice, while Nevik got into the fray with Tsuto. Tsuto wasn't putting up much of a challenge at all, and he was eventually put to sleep by Naolexa. Naolexa also petrified the Lamia completely, leaving her a statue in the middle of the room. Nualia attempted to teleport to another section of the room to get a surprise on Philip and Naolexa, but Reiner quickly came to aid of them and tripped her flat. While still on the ground, however, Nualia teleported again to the other side of the wall of ice. Through the ice, Nevik and Reiner were able to spot the outlines of what looked like trolls, and Nualia speaking with them. The heroes turned their attention to the statue in the room, and after debating, Reiner smashed the statue to pieces.

The options on the table now was to either try and pursue the enemy, or return to the altar room with Conna to try and rest up. The spell casters were mentually strained and running low on spells. The party decided returning to the altar room was best, so they began to head back in that direction. Nevik took one last look through the ice, as he only saw one troll outline. Nualia was not seen.

As the sun rose over the valley, our Heroes stirred for the morning and sat around the campfire to get a game plan. They decided that Naolexa would take 3 others and dimension door over to the lower cave smelling of lizards. Nevik would do his best to read the other scroll and teleport himself and the remaining two present party members to the cave as well.

When they arrived, Yama immediately spotted a large gem shining in the sunlight, as it rested upon a pile of sand. The gem, almost as big as his head, immediately drew him in to try and retrieve it. The other members scoffed it off saying “You’ll get yourself killed doing stuff like that all the time. You remember the giant gecko cave?”, with Yama returning saying, “Yeah? And no-one died. It’s fine, I’ve got this.” He happily strolled right on up to the gem and almost got a hand on it, when he heard a hissing sound from throughout the cave. The other three areas of this cave acted as a resting ground for the wyverns, and Yama was attempting to abduct their favorite treasure.

As the fight broke out, Reiner grabbed his trusty sword and ran head-on towards the wyverns. After getting a clean blow into one of them, one of the wyverns managed to get a hold of him and sting him, injecting poison. This burned through his veins, but did not stop him from teleporting around the enemy and cleaving it in two.

Yama battled with another one of the wyverns, and after trading blows and help from Reiner, the second one collapsed. The final one approached Naolexa, but was failing to hit her at all. Nevik and Malia ended up joining the fight and struck the beast down.

The dust settled within the cave; the rogues were inspecting a bone pile that was poorly covering a chest, while the rest of the party tended to Reiner’s poison. Both were handled, but as they explored the cave, this seemed to be the end of this area. No hidden doors revealed to them. They then had to repeat the process of using the dimension door scroll and spell to get to the other cave; the one crawling with bugs.

As Naolexa got everyone up there, the party stood there for a moment, taking everything in. Naolexa, however, reacted quickly, and lobbed a fireball into the cave blindly. The impacted area did burn away some of the thick webs in the back of the cave, and plenty of the bugs that crawled all over the floor. However, in the screeching of the bugs, other noises came through that caught Yama’s, Reiner’s, and Nevik’s ears. Giant spiders crawled off the walls, blackened a bit by the fireball. Thinking quickly, the party wrapped up these three spiders with another fireball, a sling shot, and a few arrows. They collapsed, and fell apart, revealing that these giant spiders were completely made up of dead insect husks and shells.

Naolexa, looking over through the webs, noticed a secret door at the back portion of the cave and signaled Reiner and Yama over to help start clearing away the webs. After about 5 minutes of clearing, Reiner cleaned up the webs and made an open path to the door. The others found a pile of unfortunate adventurer’s previous weapons and armor. Valtyra scooped these up into her bag of holding, and the party started squeezing through the small tunnel found at the back of the spider cave. Reiner had a sneaking suspicion that this lead into Jorgenfist; He was about to find out if he was right.

Our Heroes could see the giants at the watch tower, roughly two hundred feet away. Near a bonfire that burned next to the tower, two giants were throwing material on to it, as smoke billowed up higher and higher. The party knew this was a smoke signal, and could easily tell that things going forward wouldn't be exactly easy.

Naolexa had the idea to cast a poisonous cloud of gas on the two lower giants, in attempts to whittle away at their health. As she casted, a rock came flying through the air almost instantly, crashing in Naolexa just as she finished the spell.

A barrage of rocks slew forth from the three giants, as one moved closer and closer to Naolexa. Nevik stuck to the mountain side, and got in close to the other giant. The tall giant ducked down into the tower after a bit, and emerged from the tower. She stabbed into Nevik , Vincent, and Valtyra easily, all the while the other giant slamming his great club all over the place.

Things looked grim for Nevik and Vincent. Naolexa managed to sleep one of the giants, while Valtyra had to focus her efforts on healing. Shalelu pelted her targets with arrows, but had a few mishaps with her bow. When all seemed bleak, when it seemed that Vincent would have to watch Nevik fall, and then see himself fall...

Reiner and Malia rushed in on the scene. Seeing the bloody mess not only near him but also where Nevik was, he knew what he had to do. Malia went over to the giant who lay sleeping, and performed a cooup de grace. Luckily, after a few death gurgles, the giant succumbed to his wounds.

Vincent thought fast, and rushed over to Nevik. Luckily, the giant was distracted and didn't take a swing at him. Quickly, he teleported back to where the other casters were. Valtyra now stood between the giants and the party, as Reiner rushed as quickly as he could into the fray. Faster than expected, Reiner cut down the other giant, and brought the lady giant to her knees. She attempted feebly to stab at Reiner, but was unable to hold her spear steady. Reiner cut her down and returned to his friends to make sure they were okay. They focused their efforts on healing, but knew that if this is what lay ahead, they could be in over their heads.

While Philip and Naolexa toiled over the loot, appraising it and determining the magic properties of them, Nevik climbed to the top of the tower. He was able to get a better look at the area, and an attempt to see what lay ahead for them. He could see that the camps that were visible near the ring of towers were a buzz with giants, and a lot of them. He spotted around forty ogres in one camp alone, while the next closest one had eleven stone giants.

He relayed this information, and the party knew that their only course of action was to rest somewhere secluded and make a plan. Philip took to the air and invisible, scouting over the mountain range to the south. He was able to find a small area that seemed safe from the trouble. He returned to the party, guided them there, and then took to the air again while the party set up camp. He flew around the area, sticking close to the river side. Luckily, he saw two cave entrances near the river. Flying near the entrance of one of them, it smelled of a reptilian stink. The other didn't smell, but was covered in darkness and webs. Knowing he wouldn't be able to deal with this on his own, he returned to camp and relayed the information.

For now, the best course was to stay here one more day and prepare themselves for the road ahead. There were going to be numerous tough fights ahead. They had to prepare themselves for the worst here, lest they be catching up to their death.

The heroes encountered an unexpected night of events during their stay in Ravenmoor. Reiner and Yama protected the town from rabid dire wolves, Nevik saved Naolexa's life from a crazed demon lord worshipper, Dov battled with dragons, all while Shalelu, Malia, Valtyra, Vincent, and Philip enjoyed a quiet evening and day of rest at the inn. They even met up with Maester Grump, who some of the heroes ran into in Sandpoint a while back. He helped the heroes reveal the mystery of their newly found egg; an axebeak would soon hatch from this.

Revitalized and excited for their journey, the group left Ravenmoor to the north east. They ventured closer and closer to the Storval Stairs, but on their journey, heard a unexpected noise: panicked moo-ing. A group of ogres were traveling through the area, each with a cow slung of their shoulder, still alive and frighting for freedom. The heroes intervened with the beasts, saving a few of the cows in the process. One ogre got away, but not before Shalelu got an arrow or two in it.

The finally made it to the bottom of the Storval Stairs. A incredibly large incline awaited them, and the only way up was to climb the steps.

Tired and bruised, the Heroes had only one more problem within the town; the Scarnetti Manor was on fire. They quickly rushed over to the manor, luckily void of any giants along the path. They seemingly abandoned a looting cart, and had numerous belongings of the Scarnetti's in the cart, ready to be rolled out. Unsure on why they left the cart, they only saw Aldern over at the front of the Kaijitsu Manor, out of breath. Did he take on the giants single-handed?

Valtyra quickly went to work trying to douse the fire, but the manor was near destroyed. Naolexa spotted a piece of paper sticking out of the desk, however, and took the opportunity to snag it. It just so happened to be a letter from Jubrayl, her father, to Titus Scarnetti. It detailed the blackmail that Jubrayl was putting on Titus for hiring Jubrayl to start the fire that destroyed the competitor's lumber mills. The rumors they heard on the lumber mills just so happened to be true, but Naolexa never expected Jubrayl to be the cause. The letter detailed the agreement of a payment to Jubrayl, and the continued protection of Kaye Tesarani. Naolexa pocketed the letter just in time for Titus to show up, out of breath, and not able to believe the situation. His manor, his home, destroyed, all while he was away. Naolexa decided it best to approach him later about the letter after getting an idea on what she wanted to do with this information. She could certainly have Titus locked away for this, but would the agreement of Kaye's protection be voided?

The group took the opportunity to assess the damage and rest. They found out that not only was Shayliss Vinder and Greyland missing, but also Ameiko Kaijitsu was missing after the dust settled. Other villagers reported missing family members, the Two Knight Brewery was destroyed, and the two brothers missing as well.

Speaking with Mayor Kendra Devrin, they explained the situation, who they knew to be missing, and waited the opportunity to rest and recover. Mayor Deverin paused a moment, and asked if any hostages were taken. It was then that Naolexa remembered, Dov freezing a giant outside the north gate. If the heroes were lucky, that giant was still there.

Luck have it, it was still there, frozen. The ice definitely took some hits, but it looks like whoever was trying to free this giant failed to, and ran off before finishing the task. Reiner melted down the top of the ice to the giant's shoulders, as it gasped for air. They immediately began questioning it, asking where they were commanded to take hostages to, and why they attacked Sandpoint. The stone giant was hard-headed (literally and figuratively), and grunted at the thought of giving information as a prisoner. After threats against his life from Vincent, he finally decided that it was either provide information, or die at the hands a puny human.

Captured Stone Giant
Defeated by nosy little humans, never thought this would happen to the Plateau People. Well, I can tell you this: My lord is might Mokmurian, one of the dark giants of old come again. His magic, the things he has made...He has convinced the tribes that they will rule all the lowlands again, down to the sea. He has mastered the ancient arts.

He will certainly kill you all, run rough over your tiny homes with the army he has called. The fortunate few will become slaves. You beat us today, but you won't beat us when there are a hundred or a thousand of the Plateau People marching together. Lord Mokmurian will make it happen. He's almost a smooth a talker as you are, little one.

Teraktinus--he was the leader of our scouting party. He convinced us that you'd be easy pickings and we'd all get rich. He obviously underestimated you, and he paid for his mistake. I've no interest in paying for that mistake as well. Grant me safe passage out of your lands, and I'll tell you everything you wish to know.


They wasted no time asking him where the hostages were being taken to. He explained that they were to take them back to Jorgenfist. He knew not why they were needed, or what sort of ritual they were needed for. THey asked where Jorgenfist was, and he explained that was indeed northeast of Storval Stairs. They also asked if he had heard the name Nualia at all. He thought for a moment, and said he believes he heard a similar name spoken of around the camp by the leader, but he wasn't sure of the details.

The heroes wanted one minor revision to the agreement before setting the giant free; when they release him, he had to go south instead of back to Jorgenfist. He agreed, saying that returning to the fort could mean death by dishonor regardless. Philip used an arcane mark on him, showing a image of a garden hoe, and they melted away the rest of the ice. The giant stood, stretched after being in his icy confines for so long, and then left on the road, turning into the forest he could cut through to begin his travels south.

The group turned to the Mayor, asking what to do now? She, stern faced, had been at the interrogation the whole time. She stated they knew no details on this Mokmurian leader, aside from him being able to use powerful magics. They also don't know why the leader was going after the Old Light, but something had the attention of who the giant called Teraktinus. They need a plan going forward, it was obvious they would be heading for Jorgenfist, but they needed to rest, and Valtyra was still missing an arm.

The Mayor had a connection in Magnimar who specialized in prosthetics, specially made from clockwork gears. The Mayor wanted to go visit the Lord Mayor anyway, to inform him of what had happened in Sandpoint and to see what support he can provide, so Valtyra decided to join on the trip to Magnimar as well. The others stayed in Sandpoint to help clean up the mess, and get some rest.

The body of the dragon still lay in the sanctuary grounds, so the group took as many trophies as they felt necessary; numerous dragon scales and even severing the head to have it mounted and placed somewhere in Kaijitsu Manor. The other villagers helped pick through the remaining parts of the dragon, scavenging meat, bones, what scales were left...they wanted nothing to go to waste from this dragon. The Heroes feasted well, as dragon meat is very filling when cooked correctly. Sandpoint ate well that night, thanks to the heroes and likely will for a while.

The group split to do their own activities. Yama and Nevik agreed to round up the various equipment of the fallen foes, bringing it to the armory in town for scrap metal and coin. Vincent approached the Pixie's Kitten, hoping for a good time, but was only greeted by a sour-faced Kaye. "Shop's closed for now, dear. Come back when there isn't a giant hole in my building." He meant no harm, and agreed to come back later to perhaps assist with the cleanup and reconstruction. Philip collected his thoughts and simply meditated prior to going to bed. Reiner helped where he could with the clean up, before turning in for the night.

Naolexa helped with the clean up of the Pixie's Kitten, while asking her mother on what to do with the letter. Kaye was just as shocked to hear that Titus was in agreement to protect her, she hardly sees the man a protector role. She thought about it for a moment, and said she should approach Titus on it. See what he knows, and how he reacts to Naolexa knowing this information. Naolexa agreed, and said he would approach him tomorrow.

THe next day, Valtyra made it to Magnimar in the early morning. The Mayor showed her to the doctor she mentioned, and said she can meet back up with Valtyra here afterwards. After a hefty bill, some signing of contracts, and a few minor preparations, she readied herself for the surgery. It went through with no problems, and she easily healed of the tissue damage that was caused by the various incisions. She now had a clockwork arm to replace her previous one, and catch back up with the mayor afterwards. They secured some assistance in the guard for the next few months, so they headed back to Sandpoint to get Valtyra back with her friends.

Naolexa, Reiner, and Vincent went to the Scarnetti Manor to approach Titus Scarnetti. Naolexa caught them up to speed on the situation, and Vincent was all for blackmailing him. Naolexa approached him, and slyly explained that she knew of the agreement between Titus and Jubrayl. This of course displeased Titus, as it meant his belongings were gone through. He offered to pay for Naolexa's and her friend's silence, but that was not enough for Naolexa. She wanted 3500gp, assistance given to the reconstruction to the Pixie's Kitten (a blow to the Scarnetti family, as they protest the building daily and wish prostitution criminalized), and the continued protection of not only Kaye, but also Jubrayl and Naolexa. He scoured, but agreed, knowing he had a reputation to protect. They left Titus to his own devices, pleased with the results. Naolexa debated about turning him in anyway, since she already pocketed the funds given by Titus. She held onto the letter and the thought for now.

Philip was introduced to not only Aldern, but also the Heroes' Manor they acquired. Excited to have a place for the group to call a base of operations, he quickly got to work taking orders on what plants to grow in a miniature garden for the party. His garden hoe, imbued with magic, helped foster the plant's growth, and he already saw progress of the plants when he finished his work. He spent the rest of the day writing scrolls and resting his mind.

The others rested, waiting for Valtyra's return before heading out for Jorgenfist. The sun set and rose again, as the dawn of a new journey awaited our heroes. They rejoined with Valtyra and her new arm in the morning, and left for the road north.

The Heroes had to act fast. Naolexa was worried about her mother, hearing the Pixie's Kitten was in danger. She used dimension door to get herself, Valtyra, and Philip as close to Pixie's Kitten as possible. Vincent, Reiner, and Yama wanted to intervept the retreating boss, while Nevik, Malia, and Shalelu took a round-a-bout way to scout and keep Malia safe.

Vincent, Reiner, and Yama teleported to a 3 way intersection to get themselves in front of the boss. This landed them in a position not exactly favorable, as they suddenly noticed they were outnumbered and surrounded by an additional 6 giants. They had to act fast if this was going to work; they were going to focus all of their attention on the boss, then dimension door again to teleport to safety. They wailed on the boss, and while they were pelted by rocks, managed to slay him in one fell swoop. They quickly left the scene, seeing the despaired look on the giant's face as they left.

Naolexa, Philip, and Valtyra were able to land on a dock near the Pixie's Kitten, with only a short jog over. They rushed over to find a stone giant holding a bag, accompainied by two bears. They worked to try and bring the sitution in their favor by charming the bears to turn against the giant. As they had some success with this, they were unable to control one of the bears from tearing into them. However, the previous group teleported into the scene to help clean up this rabble. The giant managed to get a vital hit on Yama, crushing his throat. He still fought bravely, as he slowly suffocated. Luckily, the foes fell just as Yama went unconcious from the loss of breath, giving Valtyra the opportunity to address the situation. He was healed up as best as possible. Naolexa helped her mother out of the bag, who had only taken minor injuries. They looked upon the building of the Pixie's Kitten, now with a gaping hole in its front. The other heroes eventually teleported over to Thanning's house with the others.

Nevik, Malia, and Shalelu originally tried to set themselves up on top of the roofs to help with the boss fight, but they others dissapeared before they made themselves noticed. They then turned their attention to a group of three giants they spotted eariler, who had bagged Thanning Catum. Malia swallowed her pride, and stood against the giants bravely. She acted as a decoy to let Nevik attempt to drop down on the giants, and Shalelu riddle them with arrows. They managed to take one down, but two more remained, and they were broken and bruised.

Just then, Reiner, Vincent, and Philip teleported over to this area hearing the commotion, and helped tear through the giant towering over Malia, ready to smash her to the ground. The final giant was already retreating, and went into a full out sprint once the other giant fell. Reiner, enlarged still from an eariler spell, followed in pursuit. Using his genie bloodline, he closed the gap and attempted to trip the giant to stop him completely. Sadly, the giant saw this coming and stood firm. However, when he continued to retreat, Reiner caught him in the leg, drug him closer, and finished him for good. The bag fell to the ground and a feeble Thanning crawled out.

Nevik took the opportunity while near the Bottled Solutions to try and find some healing potions to help with the damage. He snuck into the building, but the owner of the store was there. Frightened already, Nevik threatened him, stating that he needed the best healing potions he has, and all of them. THe storeowner hesitated a moment, then quickly scampered to the back room when Nevik stated that more will die if he does not provide this. He rushed out with 24 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds, plenty of healing to even help soothe Yama's repairing throat. Nevik gladly took these, and stated that the Heroes owed the shopkeep one.

Vincent, Philip, and Naolexa teleported over to again intercept the giant with the bag that Reiner was intercepting, in the event he wasn't able to catch him. They were close to the general store, but sadly a second too late. Giants far to the north, near the Old Light again, were seen running. The players exausted their options to hunt them down, and saw the gaping hole in the Vinder's general store.

The group prepared themselves as the giant slowly moved it's way over. It downed a potion while he approached, and rested his hand on one of his picks. He saw an opportunity arise while the party moved about, and he threw the smaller of his two picks. It was aimed directly at Valtyra.

It hit with sure accuracy, and severed her right arm off. Carried by the momentum, her arm smacked Vincent in the face, and the pick went crashing into the raised platform that Shalelu stood on.

While the party tried to handle the situation, the giant had made it close enough to speak.

???: "Are you certain you want to fight? You seem to have a member not fully functional. I offer to you a bargain; let us leave the town peacefully at this point, and we will spare your lives. Stop us, and you will die beneath the foot of the Plateau People."

Reiner, worried about Valtyra wounds, gripped his sword tight, and stood to face to giant. The others tried to help Valtyra get it under control, but Valtyra insisted she would be fine and told them to worry about the giants.

???: "Very well. Men?"

Before, the giant only showed himself. However, behind the houses, other stone giants were waiting, along with another dire bear. The party was certain they were outpowered by these numbers, but stood against their foes.

Naolexa conjured up a Wall of Ice, in an attempt to bottleneck the forces straight to Reiner. Yama used the opportunity of tall ice columns to climb on top of them, ready to get the drop down on the enemy. Vincent did what he could to help assist by casting haste and get a few bow shots off, and Shalelu fired a barrage of arrows on the enemy. Valtyra handled her wounds as best as she could, just in attempts of stopping the bleeding. She wavered a few times, but managed to keep herself alive through out all of it.

The group slew 4 of the giants before the mysterious leader decided to retreat back into the town. The remaining giant followed after him when the bear was defeated, and the party decided not to give immediate chase to help Valtyra deal with her continuing wounds. Yama, not well-versed in the medical fields, took the opportunity to get a vantage point from a rooftop to keep an eye on the boss.

When he did, he also saw that there were numerous villagers being stuffed into bags. He caught sight of a few isntances, but since he was not from Sandpoint, he didn't recognize the people. He saw a human female being snagged from the Pixie's Kitten (Kaye Tesarani, Naolexa's mother), a Tengu male being stolen from the Rusty Dragon (Greyland, one of Dov's tribes members), a human wizard, being defended by a tiny bird who pecked at the giant's hand (Thanning Catum, Naolexa's childhood friend), and finally a red-headed human woman from the general store (Shayliss Vinder, who at a tryst with Nevik eariler this year). Other villagers also were being grabbed, but they were not as well seen as these four.

The group had to act fast if they wanted to rescue them all, but how would they go about doing it, and taking out the retreating leader?

Luckily for the town, the Garrison was mainly made out of stone, so it was able to take the dragon’s fire and not catch fire. The Heroes knew they had to get the dragon’s attention and away from people. They needed space, and the best place there was in Sandpoint aside from outside it was in front of the Sanctuary. The Heroes, some still bolstered by haste, swiftly moved over to the open area and set themselves up to lure the dragon. Dov knew that dragons in general were not only greedy creatures, but also prideful. They would not stand down from a challenge, and Reiner was just their man to stand up to a dragon fearlessly.

The dragon, perched upon the garrison, was swooping down to eat random villagers and cause chaos, enjoying every second of it. A moment later, arrows flew by the dragon’s head, one hitting the dragon. Shalelu, from near the church steps, was impressively firing arrows over 200 feet to hit her target. This was enough to at least get the dragon’s attention, as Reiner also fired a shot that passed right by the dragon’s eye. As it did, he yelled at the dragon to fight him if he was looking for a fight. The dragon smirked, and began its flight over to Reiner, where the rest of the party was prepped to lay into this dragon.

As it landed, Naolexa immediately was attempting to hex it, while Reiner, Arvel, Nevik, and Yama all went in to strike at the beast. Dov slowed the dragon, as Valtyra buffed Reiner’s defenses. It took our heroes little time to damage the dragon enough to scare it away. Nevik leaped onto its back, but unfortunately was knocked to the ground as it took flight. Fortunately, Dov’s Slow spell prevented the dragon move moving its full speed, so it was still in range for Naolexa and Dov to get two final lightning bolts crashing towards it. This was enough to kill the dragon outright, as it came tumbling to the ground. After the dust settled, the sound of a war horn pierced through the air. As the Heroes looked to the west, they saw a stone giant dressed in different garbs. He stood near the Old Light, and had the heroes right in his sights.
