Bardic Knowledge, Bardic Thoughts #6
The maze took a toll on us. We lost Azhad to the traps... I will tell his story when I speak of our journey. After great trials, we were apprehended by Dwarves. I never thought that I would live to see the Dwarves who had gone into hiding, let alone be arrested by them. They marched us through their tunnels, where it seems that our presense does indeed create a reaction. We were eventually introduced to their leader... Her looks are unnatural, and she is well revered. However, we are too late. The undead have been seiging the Keep for years, and we must now fight off the lich of the Crystal Crown if we hope to attain Dwarven allies. Our only consolation in the face of this new obstacle is that we have a clergyman with us to help fight back the undead.

Last Thought: I suppose that I was starting to become too optimistic to think that it would be this easy...

Bardic Knowledge, Bardic Thoughts #5
It's been awhile since I've truly contemplated what's gone on. We've done so much... We established a place for these people to live, we scaled a mountain and taken a legendary path, clashing with all sorts of otherworldly horrors. Our bounty is great though, and I have some of the Mind Flayer's books. Hopefully, I will be able to use the culture books to learn how to properly interpret how it perceives magic. If I am truly lucky, the key to the language itself will be buried in the pages. There are also books about the Underdark to comb through, and books about magic that I hope to use to add to my limited understanding.

And now, here we are, at the gate of the Dwarven stronghold. We are about to make contact with these people for the first time in three quarters of a century. This is history being made!

I feel like this might be it. If we can truly bring about the prophecy and cast down the Scarlet King again... I feel more adventerous... Less afraid...

Last Thought: No matter what happens, I will continue to follow this group so that I can be the one to retell the amazing tale.

Bardic Knowledge, Bardic Thoughts #4
A rain came in and put out the fires on the town. Too conveniently. Soon after a fog rolled in, and with the fog, my worst fears. More of the Scarlet King's agents, riding on basilisks. Before I kenw it, there was a bright light and an immense pain... Everything went black. I was sure that had been the end of me, but I woke up to the battle still going on. I saw a Crow in the air, trying to escape. I knew that we could not allow that to happen, and acted. We were successful and will be taking the townspeople with us to establish this base that this lot have been talking about putting together.

Last Thought: We're safe... for now...

Foundations of a Base
Dear Master Tulian

We came across another town recently, which was in the process of being raided by slavers. Luckily, we were able to get the in time to save some of them. They planned to head south, unaware of the destruction which occurred further down. After warning him, Raynghar made a wise decision. They could come with us. They were skeptical at first, but they were all on board after we fought MORE of the dark kings minions. This time, they came riding basilisks, whose eyes were gouged out, luckily. While I was watching them, a group of goblins ambushed me, stabbing me in the knee. No worries though, I recovered well. We have set off again, to the veil to the northeast.

We landed at our destination across the pond, but with a bit of a surprise: the town was destroyed. The people had failed to pay their taxes... The Scarlet King's men destroyed it. Buildings burned and crushed, and most of the population gone... I've heard of Crows getting rid of people, but this is just terrifying. I lost my composure and lost track of what the demon's cleric was doing...

Lyra seemed just as impatient as ever. We set out into the plains, only to find that the next town over was also being destroyed. As we came up to it, the buildings were being burned, the people being slain... And that Crow... As if they weren't bad enough, it turns out that they really ARE bird people. We slew them. I still can't believe it. There's now one less Crow in the world, but what if the Scarlet King wants to investigate one of his agents going missing? What if he finds us?

Last Thought: I just... I can't... This is all just too horrible... What am I going to do? What CAN I do? If the rest of the trip is like this...
