Air...Water...Earth...Fire...
Each generation is faced with challenges that try to force the world away from harmonious co-existence.
Luckily, each generation is also given an Avatar, the one person who can command all four elements and bring peace to their troubled world. But what happens when there is more than one Avatar? And more than one vision of the path to peace?
Who will unite a world

Back to the Spirit Realm
Yes!! I manage to push myself, Mitsuke, and Kusac back through the portal and into the Spirit World! That should stop the two potential Avatars from fighting to the death! (One of whom is my brother and one of whom is my best friend!)

Oh, crap. Zenna follows us through . . . . still possessed/controlled by his Avatar spirit. I was hoping he would regain control if they were separated! I still don't know if he has a part of Rava(the good spirit who has empowered all previous Avatars) that has simply been corrupted by Vhatu(her evil counterpart) OR if his Avatar-like powers come directly from Vhatu without a trace of goodness in him. He certainly acts differently than when we were children, though a lot HAS happened to us in the past year!
Mitsuke and I try to convince him not to fight us and discuss what has happened, but he only sees her as his villainous counterpart who must be destroyed. He believes he has Rava in him and that Mitsuke has Vhatu in her. He doesn't see how backwards that is!

He puts a wall between us and by the time Kusac and I break through it, he's already stopped attacking Mitsuke and started trying to free the spirit trapped in the giant Tree, behind her. Oh, no!! He thinks it's Rava trapped in the Tree! But it must be Vhatu's remaining pieces in there!! That's where Korra trapped him, 100 years ago! If he frees the evil spirit, there will be 10,000 years of darkness!!
Instead of trying to defeat this evil Avatar (so much for my corrupted theory!), Kusac commands Mitsuke and myself to run deeper into the Spirit Realm. I suppose that if we get far enough away, the Avatar spirit will leave Zenna less powerful. Kusac believes that while he cannot defeat Zenna, he CAN keep him from breaking the prison of the Tree and releasing Vhatu into the world. We take him for his word and skedaddle. (Does anyone still say that?!)
It turns out that Mitsuke had borrowed the powers of Earth Bending from the Lion-Turtle that we had met. It was the only way to reopen the Northern Spirit Portal! But now, as promised, she needed to return those powers or anger one of the most powerful creatures on our world! We manage to find him pretty easily and return the powers she borrowed, thanking him profusely, of course. The next step wasn't so clear. Without our mentor (who at this point was likely no longer with us . . . . forever! {cry}), we were a bit confused. The Lion-Turtle suggests that Mitsuke needed to Master her fourth element, before Sozin's Comet smashed into the moon. But, how could she Master Earth Bending without a Master Trainer?! He points out that she HAS one, and my eyes grow wide!! Is the Lion-Turtle going to train her?! How awesome!! When I was trained in Earth Bending , I just had . . . . . . . . oh . . . . . . . . he means me. I guess, technically, I'm an Earth Master. I've never even considered training someone else how to do it, but I suppose that it's possible! Especially since she's just recently had a taste of how it feels from her time with the borrowed powers. . . . . A little bead a sweat appears at my brow as I consider how hard this is going to be! I hope we can do it in montage, because this is going to be SO boring for regular viewers!!

. . . .

We spend a month or so (does time in the Spirit Realm pass the sand as the . . . . "Real" World?!) in intense training. . . . . and Speculation. It's likely that Zenna is spending this same time learning his fourth element, as well. Assuming that they know about the deadline of Sozin's Comet approaching, that is. Well, it's pretty obvious that it's coming. We see it getting larger, even here in the Spirit World. We also realize that it's going to be cutting it close for us two getting to the 'rocket' launching site in time. Even if Singehn, Kohna, and Yoshike manage to get us a place on this 'ship', we will have to rush to find them before they launch it! The Lion-Turtle tells us of another way to get to the moon, and it's inside the palace of the Northern Water Tribe! Sweet!! He also tells us that Zenna has not only failed to free the remaining parts of the spirit of Vhatu, but he has left the area of the Northern Water folk! That means we are unlikely to encounter problems on our way to this secret garden of Yuae(the moon)! Especially if Mitsuke can restore the appearance of the heir to the throne! Now that she's mastered all four elements AND has a smattering of experience in dealing with Spirit matters, that shouldn't be a problem.
And, in fact, it isn't. We return to the northern portal, passing the Tree (being protected by Kusac! He's frozen the whole area, but he's trapped inside! Well, we'll just have to come rescue him, once Zenna is no longer determined to free the spirit of darkness!). The guards at the city take us straight to the king, queen, and heir, where we tell our story. We ask about the rocket and Bingchaun shows up! He's been sent to bring us to the ship before it launches, but we calculate that we can't make it in time. We ask about Plan B, and the monarchs grant us leave to use their sacred garden to transport us to the moon (!!!?!!) and Bingchaun uses his messenger falcon to send a message to the others (I had totally forgotten about that thing!!). He tells the other group that we'll meet them on the moon!
So, Mitsuke, Bingchaun, and I go to this sacred garden, hidden deep within the castle. It's lovely and has a pond with two beautiful fish swimming circles in it, reminding me of a YinYang symbol. Very interesting! Mitsuke begins meditating and trying to figure out how to get us to the moon. I feel a strange stirring in my pocket and discover it's coming from my White Lotus tile! It's like compass, pointing not only toward the Earth that we stand upon (very likely this will be our way home, as the monarchs hinted at!) but also pointing toward the moon! Between Mitsuke and myself, we discover a path between worlds and actually make it to the moon in time to see not only Sozin's Comet, seemingly on a collision course, but also a strange metal object hurtling towards us. That must be the 'rocketship'!! (What a strange combination of creatures, now that I've said it aloud!) I hope our friends are safely on that 'rocketship'!!
Just as I'm thinking that, it explodes!!! I knew that's what rockets were supppsed to do!! I thought Yoshike was supposed to STOP that part from happening!!
What now?!

Rocket Theft
I'm going to be a space pirate.

First of his kind. No one's ever done something like this before. Even if I wasn't part of Team Avatar, I'd still be in the history books. First man in space. First pirate in space. First man on the moon. First... what do you call this? Certainly not Grand Theft Auto. And I get to pilot the damn thing! If we weren't heroes, we'd probably be in big trouble, but I'm sure saving the world will earn us some clemency. And money. And babes.

Yes, Sozin's Comet is still out there (always with the Firebenders, huh?) but Mitsuke is on her way some how, and I'm sure that we can handle this, as long as nothing unexpected comes up.

Epic × 2!
Reunited and it feels so {meh}.
Well, I managed to make a shelter for myself and the four (weren't there five?) Benders who came through the Spirit Portal and then closed it. The Portal remains closed and no sign of Mitsuke or Kusac anywhere. The Earth chunks I managed to dig up from deep under the ice keep the wind from cutting through me (us) but I can't get a fire started. I guess it's time to head back to the city! I make a sled out of one of the chunks and manage to get all four prisoners back and into the hands of the royals guards before any of us freeze!
The king and the queen (or is it the queen and the king? I can't tell them apart, sometimes even when they're talking!) and the new queen/princess (politics is hard, OK?) are very interested in my story. If the portal is closed for good, that's a major change for the area, I'd guess. Their determine that the best course of action is to send a contingent of guards up to the area where the portal should be in anticipation of it reopening and Mitsuke and Kusac coming back through. I thought that my best plan was to try to join Singehn, Yoshike, Kohna, and Bingchuanin in their efforts to find this "space-ship" heading to the moon. The queen (or king?) thinks its best if I'm there for the return of the portal. I guess they're right.
They find me some warmer clothes and the team they're sending is way more prepared for the weather conditions, so I'm OK with this. I let the others work out the details, since they seem like they've done this, before. We get back up there but there's some people already standing around where the portal used to be, looking concerned. I recognize one, immediately. My brother, Zenna. {Ugh!}. This isn't what I had in mind. I don't know if I'm ready to see him, again. I haven't talked to him since it was discovered that he was (an) Avatar! I decide to avoid this conversation/confrontation for as long as possible. I pretend to be one of the workers setting up tents and staying out of his view, but close enough to listen to him and his White Lotus handlers.
It seems they expect him to reopen the gate, despite not having Mastered all four of the elements, yet. He's not sure how to do it, without that Mastery. Heck, he hasn't even started training for the fourth! I avoid contact until the set-up is done and people have settled down a bit. Then, I can finally catch him alone, without the White Lotus 'guards' (I mean, guardians) around him. Here's hoping things go well! {Fingers crossed!}
.
.
.
.
{Whew!} He didn't attack me on sight! Nor did he make a big, noisy deal about it, drawing unwanted attention from his handlers. A few moments of privacy is the best I can hope for, though. Let's see what he knows . . . .
Well, he is in fact confused about how to reopen the Portal without all 4 elements. He also believes that he's the only potential Avatar. . . . . when I suggest that Mitsuke could help from the other side of the closed Portal, he scoffs that a simple Fire Bender could do much. He must not remember the fight they had, last time they met . . . . ooooohhhh, crap . . . . this could get bad. When (if?!) she comes back through the reopened Spirit Portal (I hope), I could lose them both . . . .
And, with that thought, a low rumbling sound, the ground (ice?!) shakes a bit, and the Portal reopens!! Yeah!!
.
.
.
And Mitsuke steps through
.
.
.
And her eyes almost immediately turn the white of Avatar form . . . .
.
.
.
As do Zenna's
.
.
.
I rush toward Mitsuke with the intention of knocking us both back through the Portal . . .
.
.
.
I hope I roll well on initiative!!

Whole New World
Well.... Today did not go as expected!! Talk about life changing events!!
Kusac has always been kind of a jerk. To Mitsuke and to me. He didn't want me learning Water Bending techniques to help her out and he didn't seem to like how we were running all over the world trying to fix things. Isn't that what Avatar crews DO?!
But, when we solved (most of) the problem with the Northern Water Tribe heir/princess with little difficulty, his opinion seems to have changed.
While we had the attention of the king & queen (even if we couldn't tell them apart!), Singehn told the information that we had gathered along our journeys and Kusac (who we'd kept this all secret from) took it all in without question. When we explained that we wanted to get Mitsuke on the rocket to the moon (!!?!!), he agreed, but said that she (AND I!!??!!) should stay here to train! She won't be much good without mastering Water Bending, but why did he want me here?! I didn't have to wait long to find out.
He asked me what my long term plans were and I came clean. I explained about how I believed it was possible to bend two elements and never even know it. He gave the usual adult answer of "It's never happened before" and "This could turn out to upset the balance in the world". Then..... He (I think) offered to start training me in the ways of the White Lotus!! The people who trained, helped, and maintained the Avatars, traditionally! Wwwoooooooowwwww!!! I was NOT expecting that!!
I told him that I would have to think about it, but of course, it wasn't long before I was basically acting like his apprentice, running errands and helping him out! This is pretty awesome!! Plus, he had me learning Water Bending alongside Mitsuke!! And not being incredibly patronizing to either of us!! I guess he accepted that she IS (or has a good chance of being) the actual Avatar and should get all the training she could to help defeat the ..... Thousand years of darkness!!!
The other 4 went off on a recon mission to scout the area where the rocket ship was supposed to be being built. We'd catch up once Mitsuke was better trained and (hopefully) had returned the princess's proper face.
After several days of training, he decided that we should check out the northern portal to the Spirit World. When we got there, we discovered 4 people rushing out and soon followed by a giant, shadowy figure. The four started Bending and trying to affect the portal, so we jumped into action. I told Mitsuke to stop the four while Kusac and I distracted the giant shadow (Vahtu?!). Kusac didn't even question my plan, other than a worried look about our giant opponent!!
Strangely, Kusac and I had more of an effect on the creature than I had expected. I was planning on just delaying it until the Avatar could join us. The cracks and missing pieces of the spirit made it weaker and we were able to knock one arm completely off AND back through the portal, even though the portal was flickering in and out. The creature, badly injured, followed its arm back through the portal, as did Mitsuke when we mentioned that if the portal closed, it could only be opened from the other side!! A trip to the south pole to go through that gate could take weeks! Kusac followed her, leaving me with four angry but wounded benders to deal with, all by myself..... and only a couple of pebbles to access my powers through. The "earth" in this area is buried under yards of ice!!
Earth Prodigy for the win!! I took all four of them down (eventually), but by that time the portal had flickered out, completely. I hope Kusac and Mitsuke can figure out how to open it, again. I'll just camp here and wait.....

Northern Water Tribe: Part Two - Political Punishment
We did it. We got Hakoda, the aunt of the Princess to admit what she had done. Her uncle, Paku tried to run away, but was stopped. We have managed to avert a major catastrophe in the Northern Water Tribe. In the process, Kohna almost died. He got greedy and wanted to keep a new fangled device that Varrick Corp had on top of a tower, just a a big 'rocket', like a huge firework slammed into it and exploded. They have some very nasty weapons. Someone needs to find where they are making them. They also had some sort of camera that could send a picture over a cable, a moving picture. They have made some really big advances in the past few years and managed to keep them quite for quite a while.

It looks like we have another trip into the Spirit World to find a cure for the Princess. sigh...
