Background:
Zid Kang of Shenchu Bay is portrayed as a charming, carefree and larger than life character, but he is also ambitious and calculative from the inside. His father was Lui Kung Kang, a notorious pirate from Shenchu Bay, a Free Captain elected as one of the “Wise Council of Three” for the island some 32 years ago. Zid was born at the high sea, his mother was a cook on board of his father’s ship.

On his third name day, the same year his father was elected, their ship was being pursued by five unknown hostile ships attempting to board their vessel. In a desperate attempt to lose their pursuer, Lui Kung Kang ordered their ship to manoeuvre pass a vicious hurricane appeared out of nowhere, a critical error which completely destroyed their ship during the attempt. No one knows if it was The Eye of Abendego which got their ship, but regarding the unknown pursuers, some surviving sailor said it was assassins sent by the other two “Wise Council of Three”, who wasn’t particularly happy with Liu Kung’s “unorthodox” approach. Regardless, it left Zid and his mother drifting at sea for days, until a Mwangi fishing boat from Bonuwat rescued them. And they have heard no news from his father since.

At his early childhood, a shaman from Bekyar have discovered potential within the boy, seeing this as a sign from his god Dagon, the shaman began to train Zid with the art of the Juju Magi (an art that utilizes both Juju magic and melee combat).

Currently at his mid-30s, Zid has been known to enjoy women or a good tankard now and then. For the past 18 years, he chartered his own boat and travels throughout the Garund, learning whatever martial or Juju secrets he can find. His latest project was to explore the crumbling and vine-choked ruins of the cyclops empire of Ghol-Gan, which have lain abandoned among the isles of the Shackles for thousands of years. He arrived at a tavern called the Formidably Maid in Port Peril one night to meet with a contact who supposedly had an old map of lost cyclops ruins to sell, but the drink was stronger than he had expected and he passed out before making the deal...
