Description:
Evayne used to be a plain girl from an outlying farmstead North-East of Magnimar. After her awakening her honey-blond hair and pale skin stayed the same, but her eyes changed from brown to an arresting, vibrant blue. When she is battling evil, standing up for the down-trodden, or otherwise enraptured in one of her causes they shine like glowing sapphires. She stands 5’10” and weighs in at 125 pounds, making her tall and strong for a female, but not unusually so.
Background:
Evayne grew up in a small farmstead North-East of Magnimar. When she was 14 she left to join herself to the church of Iomedae. After about a year as an initiate she was trained in combat to serve as a guard of traveling priests. She spent 9 years protecting priests, defending the innocent, and traveling South-West Varisia with the church to bring justice and peace to the poor and weak. When she was 24 she met Devin, a young ranger who traveled the Cinder Road. They immediately fell in love and petitioned her church to release her so they could settle down and start a family. The church assented, and the two lovers moved to Evayne’s hometown. A year later they welcomed Thomas to the world.

When Thomas was a year old the young family journeyed to a neighboring village to participate in a festival. On the way home they encountered a grievously wounded man being attacked by brigands. When Evayne attempted to intervene the young man and brigands joined forces and ambushed her family, knocking her unconscious. When she awoke she was in a cellar, chained to a wall. Her husband was dead beside her, and the brigands were holding Thomas over a brazier full of coals. A young half-elf was leading them in a chant. When he saw that Evayne was awake he smiled and told her that he was helping to cleanse the world of her curse, and she should be happy. He then cut the babies throat and drained it’s blood over the blazing coals, calling out to Lamashtu all the while.

As Evayne watched her baby slaughtered before her a surge of rage washed through her. The dank cellar filled with light, and a voice in her head rang through her mind: “Give yourself to my cause and vengeance will be yours.” Without a thought she agreed to the alien entity. A spear of pure light shot from her hands, slaying all but the half-elf who, shaking off his surprise, escaped the cellar.

Evayne managed to free herself, but she lost the half-elf soon after leaving the cellar. After burying her family she wandered for some time looking for clues about the men she had encountered or the voice she had heard. Her searching soon brought her to Magnimar, and the mystery cult of Ragathiel. After telling her story to the members of the order she soon swore herself in service to the Empyreal Lord, knowing him to be the force behind her rescue and the means of her vengeance. After several months spent training with the order she began to have visions of sand falling through a gargantuan hourglass, turning to glass as it passed the neck in the time-piece. These visions have led her to Sandpoint, though since her arrival three days ago the visions have ceased.
