gaming language verisimilitude

Ever notice that there are certain words the RPG world has latched onto, that you don't normally see used day to day? Here's one that my group was discussing recently:

ver·i·si·mil·i·tude  [ver-uh-si-mil-i-tood, -tyood]
–noun
1. the appearance or semblance of truth; likelihood; probability: The play lacked verisimilitude.
2. something, as an assertion, having merely the appearance of truth.

So - what do you think? Is their verisimilitude to my observation?
