I would like to see something added to allow NPCs to be listed as a player character of sorts. I sometimes throw in an NPC for long term party participation (if they are lacking an important class or just need more help), and it would be nice to include them on the EXP and Loot charts.

Just a thought.

I just made an NPC over the weekend and found out that, if you use the NPC area under the Wiki section, you can select the NPC to be included in the loot chart. However, there is not an option to share in the XP, so I would concur that allowing NPCs to be added to the XP table would be beneficial.

Should I be concerned that the last update in the new blog on the main page of the site say's "2010-09-28". I love Epicwords. However the seemingly lack of update and information is really scaring me. If epicwords goes down I will have no where else to go for all my character history's and campion's stories I've made. Please give me some kinda hope that I have nothing to fear...

Agreed. A buddy of mine who had a campaign page messaged me the other day to say that his campaign spontaneously disappeared and had yet to hear from the Admin for over a week now. Is this place still alive? or should we be saving our sensitive data in case of the worst? I'm really worried about this, as I love this place and have for several years now. Help us Admin, you are our only hope!

You should always be backing up your files, no matter what website you are using, if they are important enough that you worry about losing them.

I am not sure if I did anything against TOS, but I was able to send an invite to my game to myself, and then join as a "character". This allowed me to appear on the list and add exp to the NPC I had in the group.

I was looking at it as a work around as opposed to borking the system. it is just like being a player in my own game. When I use the posting option, I can post as NPC, DM or my character.

Can we have multiple concurrent Experience tracks for players. For example in Fate there's Refresh and Skill Points and even Minor Milestones for all characters.

i'd like for the loot system to display items in a nested fashion to facilitate items stored inside of items.

backpack
-->gadget
-->dodad
-->pandora's box
----->evil things
----->hope
-->spork
belt
-->belt pouch
----->stale gum
-->sheath
----->machete

INVISIBLE INK FTW
would that be part of your "Dynamic Character Sheets"?

I had not really come across this as a problem, but recently I had a character multiclass (AD&D 2e). The exp track does not allow assigning someone a split class.

I would like to see an option to make a character multiclass and have the experience split for said classes.

Experience bonuses added in would be nice as well.

It looks like this might be possible (though clunky) to do with custom XP tracks. Meaning you'd do a crapton of math up front, and fill in the xp values.

For example, you could have an XP track for "fighter/wizard"
and the thresholds you enter are:

"Fighter 1 / Wizard 1" 0
"Fighter 2 / Wizard 1" 4000
"Fighter 2 / wizard 2" 5000
"Fighter 3 / wizard 2" 8000
"Fighter 3 / wizard 3" 10000

And then (if you want crazy-go-nuts)
Fighter(+10%)/Wizard(+0%)
"Fighter 1 / Wizard 1" 0
"Fighter 2 / Wizard 1" 3638
"Fighter 2 / wizard 2" 5000
"Fighter 3 / wizard 2" 7274
"Fighter 3 / wizard 3" 10000

The idea being that we reduce the cost of the level so that if they were getting the 10% xp bonus, this is how much they need to actually earn in order to level.

It tracks totally different, but the math works out the same.

This was a great idea. Nicely done and suggested. I would never have thought to do it this way. Thank you for the suggestion; it works well.
